Manali Winter Carnival 2015

National Winter Carnival has begun on 2nd of January, 2015. The Carnival will last for five days.
Chief Minister of Himachal, Mr. Virbhadra Singh was to inaugurate the carnival but he was unable to reach Manali because of the bad weather. In his absence DM Kullu did all the prayer ceremonies at Hidimba Temple and inaugurated the Carnival.
Following are the events that will be organised during this Carnival are:-

1. Jhanki (Panchayats)
2. Open Jhanki (open)
3. Jhanki Departmental.
4. Folk Dance
5. Winter Queen
6. Fashion Show Contest
7. Classical Dance
8. Himachal Traditional Dress
9. Voice of Carnival
10. Talent Show :- a) Choreography/street dance            b) Folk Theatre/street play
11. Local Band 
12. Tug of war
13. Food Stall
14. Natti-(Lalri) of Mahila Mandal
15. Lady of the Festival.

Since, this is a lean period for the people who are related to tourism industry as well as local people and the farmers who can enjoy the carnival to its fullest.
